Having a goal is essential for anything in our lives, after all, it is these goals that drive us to go beyond. However, to achieve this goal, you need to have planning and goals, they are the ones that will make you take one step at a time and achieve what you want so much.
Understand a little more about goals, what they are and why they are so important to make your dream come true!
What are the planning and goals?
But are goals and objectives not the same? No. Goals must be measurable. For example, your goal for this year is to get a new degree, but how do you plan to organize yourself to fulfill that goal? How long will this be done? How many hours a day will you be available to accomplish it?
Being even clearer, let’s take the example of someone who started studying for contests. That person needs to determine how much time he wants to spend, how many hours a day he wants to dedicate, how many issues per discipline he wants to resolve, and so on.
This means that goals and planning need to start in the middle and end, and it is important to create short, medium and long term goals.
Why do goals help us?
It all has to do with the way our brain works. First, you need to understand that your mind is constantly searching for dopamine, a neurotransmitter that offers a sense of pleasure.
By creating a goal and fulfilling it, you are giving your brain dopamine and this encourages and motivates you to keep going, always looking for more and more. That’s why goals work for the vast majority of people.
And here we come to essential information: create short, medium and long term goals that are achievable.
For example, your goal for this year is to open a company. Well, as a short-term goal, settle all the documentation and the payment of fees and taxes necessary for that. For the medium-term goal, you need to raise the capital needed to open the company, whether through loans or any other means.
As a long-term goal, you can determine to reach a certain sales value in the first year of operation.
Goals must be attainable or you are bound to be frustrated constantly. For example, getting a loan to start your business is often a time-consuming task. You need to do a great deal of market research, evaluate all your options and only then go to the locations to find out what documentation is needed and assess whether the loan is viable or not. All of this takes some time.
Another important feature of the goals that work is that the more specific they are, the better. Instead of creating just one goal for the marketing department, create other smaller goals, for example, for digital marketing and others for offline marketing. Within digital marketing, create goals for email marketing, social media and so on.
Having planning and goals in everything you do is a great way not only to start reaching your goal but also to stay motivated to continue. Plan, create goals and constantly evaluate them.
